Weekly Report

WEEK 12

The activities during this whole week are:-

  1. We need to prepare the final findings on subject as mention in Wednesday(26/09/2007) class.
  2. There is no class on Thursday (27/09/2007). So our group do a meeting in COIT in order to discussed about the contents to put in the slides for the subject 's final findings.
  3. During this 2 hours meeting, the things that we were discussed:-
  • we reviewed the previous presentation slides and company case study.
  • brainstorming on how to prepare the content of presentation slides.
  • find the subtopics that are going to be highlighted such as problems, findings, proposed suggestions to the solutions, comparison of current company business process flow and proposed company business process flow, its benefits, its outcomes and the interfaces of proposed system.
  • divided the task among team members and compile it on sunday or monday.

Minute meeting:
  1. On Wednesday class, Pn Ros did mention that the presentation for subject final findings will be start next week. Therefore, the objective of the meeting is to prepare the contents for the final findings.
  2. Firstly,we had reviewed all the previous presentation slides and also the assignment on templates.
  3. Then, we start preparing the outline for the contents that should have in this presentation.
  4. After preparing the outline content, the project manager divided the tasks among team members. Each members need to detailed out the outline contents in slides. This slides will be compile together on Sunday.

Weekly Report

WEEK 11

During this week, the activities that our group does are:
  • Pn Ros gave us an article which is called a case study in small business in north-west Tazmania. We need to read this article and understand the whole article.
  • Our Project Manager divided the subtopics among the team members. Each of us need to read their parts and understand their parts.
  • On Wednesday class (19/9/2007), we were given a tutorial based on the article of case study. There were 4 questions in this tutorial.We need to summarize the business practice of this company, identify its business process, find the problems and issues that faced by this company before the reengineering process and give the suggestion to overcome the problems and issues. We did this tutorial in class and sits in our group to do discussion on this tutorial.
  • We continued to finish this tutorial on Thursday class (20/9/2007) and need to be submitted on Friday.

Weekly Report

WEEK 10

  • We're now in Week 10. These are the activities that our group does in the whole weeks.

1) We do analyze back the business problem back. From the process flow we identified the problems in this business process.


2) From the 5 problems that we identified from the Wedding Reservation Services, we choose 1 major problem to be reengineered.

3) We have chosen this problem as main problem that occurs in this business process.

  • The main problem is in the customers made decision part where employee take a long time in entertain customer because the customer need a long time to made decision (waste of time).

4) In the previous class, Pn Ros had asked all the groups to prepare templates. We managed to come out the templates but this templates were based on the whole business process because at that time we did not managed to find the problems yet. Then we modified back the templates to meet with the Wedding Reservation Services and need to be subbmitted on Friday(13/9/2007).






5) After we have chose the problem to be reengineered, we come out with the idea to solve the problem. The idea is to build the website for Butik Asmaradana.We determine the benefits that the Butik will have if they preferred to build the website.

6)The benefits are:-
  • it can give a lot of benefits to the boutique such as save time of the employee and customers.
  • the boutique does not have to hire many employees and this idea is save the company budget.
  • all the collection of the boutique can be put in the website with all the description, price and so on.
  • the customers just need to browse the website and make the choices and they only need to go to the boutique to make the reservation and pay deposit only.
  • Customers also can make the reservation by online.
  • All the reservation will straightly store in database so that the management of boutique can easily organize and keep track the data.
7) On Thursday (13/9/2007), we had 4th appointment with the manager of Butik Asmaradana. Syuhada and Mazura went to Butik Asmaradana to conducted this meeting.In this one hours meeting, we discussed about a few things such as:-

  • Show the Butik Asmaradana Business Process Flow.
  • Show the templates
  • Explained to her about we had identified a few problems with the current Wedding Reservation Services process flow.
  • Suggest to her to build the website for her boutique in order to reengineered that part.
  • Explained to her the benefits of the website to her boutique.
  • The manager of Butik Asmaradana agreed to accept this idea and the recommendations on how to upgrade her boutique.

Progress Report

1) On Thursday( 13/9/2007) we do the site visit to Butik Asmaradana on 3pm.
2) We go to Butik Asmaradana to show to manager of Butik Asmaradana about the business process flow and the templates to reengineer the wedding reservation services.
In this one hour meeting, we have discussed about the ideas on how we can improved this process.
3) These are the contents of our discussion:


  • Show to manager of Butik Asmaradana the business process flow.
  • Show the templates of the assumptions,challenges and ideas based on the wedding reservation services.
  • Explained to her why we think the wedding reservation services need to be reengineered.
  • After the explaination, manager of Butik Asmaradana agree on ideas to build the website to her boutique.

4) The objectives of building the website for Butik Asmaradana are:

  • To decrease the customers waiting time to be entertained. They can just simply browsing through the website to view the wedding dress collections, the wedding's package and other services provided by this boutique. They also can go to boutique to view the collections or make reservation.
  • To manage customer reservation. They can make the reservation through online. It is also give advantages to boutique because they can keep track the customer reservation and avoid resevation redunduncy.
  • It is convenient to the boutique management because it have only 5 workers. It's not require the boutique to hire many workers to handle this wedding reservation services.

Weekly Report

WEEK 9

  1. During this week, we have a presentation on wednesday and thursday's class. We need to present our progress on redegisning the business process. We have completed the Butik Asmaradana process flow.
  2. We performed the techniques which are Assumption Surfacing,Idea Generation ,Selection & Integration and Process Validation. In this templates we list down all the assuption, challenges and idea toward Butik Asmaradana business process. Pn Ros asked all student to submit this templates. We modified the templates in order to focus only on weeding services part.
  3. Wedding services process is the process where we are going redesign. According to Pn Ros's comment for our presentation, we need to specified which part of wedding services that are going to redesign. We also need to detailed out the possible solution toward the identify problem.
  4. We're still waiting the confirmation for the next interview with manager of Butik Asmaradana.
